Ariya’s Diary
Day Three
Dear Diary,
I found the flowers I want to use for my Litha crown. Mostly wood violets, bluebells, and white yarrow. They will still be blooming when I need them for our Litha Celebration. I really want some ribbons too.
Aunt Noni says there was a human author who wrote a story about our Litha. It’s called A Midsummer Night’s Dream. I can’t remember the author’s name - I think it started with an S. Apparently, it’s quite famous in the human world. I never heard of it. Anyway, I love Litha, the midsummer solstice. It’s my favorite celebration - even more than Samhain and Yule. Everything is fresh and new - blueberries and blackberries to eat - and the Woods smell delicious. Magical things can happen, I’ve heard. Maybe Finbar will be at the Midsummer ball. I hope so.

Day Two
Dear Diary,
Another month of cat training done. Milo almost gave me a compliment. I think he was about to say I’m a fast learner. But instead he sucked his teeth and spat! Crazy old faerie. I told Noni and she just rolled her eyes and shook her head. Milo’s great-nephew was there again today. I’ve learned his name is Finbar. He is sooo cute. Long blond hair tied back and dark eyes. He smiled at me for the longest time. I felt all fluttery. I want to talk to him and yet, I don’t want to talk. It’s hard to explain. Feathers and Fairies, I can’t tell Mother about him. She’d purse her lips and suck in her cheeks. I know that look. It comes right before a serious lecture. That’s all for now, dear diary. I’m off searching for the best flowers for my Litha crown.

Day One
Aunt Noni says writing can ease worries. So, I’m trying it, dear diary. I am so bored. Nothing exciting happens here anymore. Cat training is halfway done. I am happy for that. It’s pretty interesting, but I have to endure Mother’s questions. Every day, she expects me to recite what I’ve learned. Feathers and Fairies! Doesn’t she trust me? I don’t want my wings clipped either, but seriously, she drives me crazy. Always on my case to - Stand up straight – pull your shoulders back – quiet your wings – try to look pleasant. One good thing, dear diary, there’s this boy…Milo’s great-nephew came to training yesterday. He’s cute. And he winked at me! More about him when I write tomorrow. Right now, I must go help with preparations for Midsummer Night’s Eve and Litha, the Summer Solstice. Until tomorrow.
