The Portrait Gallery
The Portrait Gallery
The Portrait Gallery in Wood Haven plays an important role in the education of Moth Fae children. At an early age, they are guided through the gallery to learn the names and dates of all the cats whose portraits hang there. For without these special felines, the Fae could not gather moondust. Without moondust, West Wood would die and with it, the Fae. Learning the hundreds of names and dates is a daunting task for these little ones whose minds flitter as fast as their tiny wings. But history is important, say the grown-ups, and the wee Fae do not disappoint their teachers.
The faerie children are always intrigued, and a little frightened, by the portrait and story of the one cat who was a human’s pet. His name - Mr. Boonjie. They’ve heard of the awful humans. But it’s fun to be scared when you’re safe inside Wood Haven with your favorite teacher close by.
